Loophole in Georgia
Open Records Act
concerning 911 calls

A loophole exists in the State of Georgia Open Records
Act concerning 911 (emergency 911/ E911) audio calls. In
a worse case scenario, this loophole could cause the endan-
germent of a person’s life or safety. At the least, this loop-

Repaving of Highway 78
will take about four weeks
Repaving of US Highway 78/Bankhead Highway
will occur 6:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. until on or about
September 28th from the Douglas County to
Haralson County lines. Paving will occur at night and
take about four weeks to complete. Motorists are
asked to be mindful of construction crews.

Carroll County Water Authority
withdraws reservoir application;
will submit when more accurate
population numbers are available

The Carroll County Water Authority
(CCWA) temporarily, administratively
withdrew their application permit from
the United States Army Core of
Engineers (USACE) for the 643 acres
site proposed for the Indian Creek
Reservoir. The original plan was to be
able to produce 18 million gallons of
water per day for processing. The
Authority intends to reapply after the
appropriate studies are updated to
account for the change in water supply

notice of intent of
claim against city

Two fonner Carrollton city employ
ees have filed an intent to bring a claim
against the City of Carrollton. Both
claim to have been wrongfully termi
nated on false grounds and to have
endured libel, slander, false imprison
ment, followed by financial, emotional,
and physical damages.
