At the Tuesday, December 7th meeting - the final one for 2016 - the Carroll
County Board of Commissioners heard from Finance Director Leamon Stephens
as he presented the financial report ending October 2016. The six district
commissioners and chairman heard that in this fiscal year that began July 1st, the
county government has spent $4.9+ million more than has come in in revenue.
Revenues year to date total $9,699,020 while expenditures total $14,643,220. A
deficiency of revenues over expenditures is $4,944,200.

Drought status remains
despite the 6.19” of rain
that fell Nov. 28-Dec. 6

The recent, current rainstorms over Carroll
County have had little effect on the drought status
of the county, according to Carroll County Water
Authority CEO Matt Windom. “Even though the

Annexation and
rezoning could bring
new jobs to Temple
