to address claim of assault on Temple

Temple City Council Members Penny Ransom, Ward 1;
Howard Walden, Ward 2; Todd Rothwell, Ward 3; Richard
Bracknell, Ward 5; and Mayor Lester Harmon have been
requested to appear in Carroll County Magistrate Court at
166 Independence Drive in Carrollton, Georgia by Chief
Magistrate Alton P. Johnson at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
June 14, 2017. This is a public courtroom. (William
Simmons, Ward 4, died April 2,2017.)

Villa Rica council hires help
in search for city manager
Meantime, past Deputy City Manager and current Mayor Jeff
Reese has resigned his full time job with RP Paving Solutions

The City of Villa Rica has entered
into a contract with Underwood &
Company out of Thomasville, Georgia
to assist in its search for a city
manager.
The city has had a run in city man
ager position in the past year: David
Milliron (city manager) one year 9
months; Chief Mike Mansour (temp
orary interim) two weeks; Mike
Jackson (interim) one month; and now,
again, Mansour (temporary interim).
Jackson was to head up the search to
fill the job, but was let go due to his
alleged questioning whether the city
“was ready for a black city manager”.

ment positions in municipal
government.
According to City Attorney David
Mecklin, who recommended the firm
to the council after research through
Georgia Municipal Association and the
LaGrange City Attorney, this service
will cost the city a flat rate of $ 1,500.
