Highway to be renamed
“Veterans Memorial Highway"
Letters and notices have been
distributed to inform residents
and commercial business owners
in City of Villa Rica, Douglas
County, City of Douglasville, and
the City of Austell that these four
municipalities have agreed to
reassign street numbers as well
as rename Highway 78/
Bankhead Highway to “Veterans
Memorial Highway” throughout
Douglas County.

of the Integrated Criminal Justice
Case Management System - a
novel civil and criminal e-filing
system that is currently being
developed by a Canoll County

voted down business owner John
Paulk’s “Conditional Use Permit”
for his property on Martin
Cemetery Road, Carrollton, at the
board’s regular meeting Tuesday,
May 1, 2018. The Carroll County
Planning & Zoning Board had
recommended approval at their
March 27,2018 meeting.

Mayor Reese: city is under obligation to Carroll Tomorrow
for the next several years at $50,000 per year

Andy Camp, formerly of Carroll Tomorrow, presented a retail
research, marketing and recruitment overview of NextSite to the Villa
Rica City Council at their work session on March 29, 2018. The
company has a state-wide contract with Georgia Power and can offer
innovative price structuring to municipalities to bring new retail, new
restaurants, and new jobs to an area. NextSite is proposing a 3-year
customized consulting plan for $15,500 per year. Camp projects a
185% return on the investment.
Mayor Jeff Reese pointed out that the city is under obligation to
Carroll Tomorrow for $50,000 per year for the next several years. “I
would be hard-pressed to obligate more taxpayer dollars for the same
service,” he stated.
