Our regular routines of going to work or school, Dugan going out to eat with family, and physically attending worship services have been postponed for the immediate future. Perhaps most unsettling, however, is not knowing exactly when life will return to normal. While these may be uncertain times, we have significant hope for the days ahead. Georgia’s Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger made this change pursuant to the authority vested in him by O.C.G.A. § 21-2- 50.1. This decision was announced one day after Governor Brian Kemp extended the cur rent public health state of emergency until May 13, 2020. The tents were erected in anticipation of more COVID-19 patients than the hospital could handle inside. Despite a recent “failing grade” from an online media source, it appears that Carroll County citizens have been effectively social distancing. At press time, the county has had a total of 310 positive cases, with a population estimate of 117,000.
