On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, the
Carroll County Farm Bureau (CCFB) held
its annual meeting at the Carroll County
Ag-Ed Center, Carrollton, which included
a home cooked dinner and desserts along
with a vast array of door prizes. Among the
dignitaries in attendance were Georgia

or grandchildren
waking up on Christ
mas morning finding
nothing under the
free, but for hun
dreds of area chil
dren, that could be a Rebecca Smith
reality if not for the hard work and gen
erosity of local businesses and citizens.
Each year, for decades now, these
West Georgia “elves” collaborate to raise
enough money to buy Christmas gifts tor
up to 400 children in Canoll, Flaralson,
and Fleaid counties.

On Thursday, September 30, 2021, the
Canoll County Board of Commissioners
met at 4 p.m. lor a work session. All
Commissioners were present, and the
meeting was called to order by
Chairman Michelle Morgan.
Finance Director Alecia Searcy pre
sented the August, 2021 financial recap.
Revenue was $6,663,191, up $1,182,000
over last year. Sales tax and all other
economic taxes are doing well, State
Court fines are already at 23% of
budget. Property taxes are up, primarily
due to collection of taxes due fr om prior
years. Expenses tor August were at
$9,151,540, up from last year by
$707,000. The Fund Balance is
