Mr. William Bert
"Billy" Barnes, age 76, of
Milner and formerly of
Thomaston, died Sat
urday, March 27, 2021 at
Wellstar Kennestone Hos
pital in Marietta.
Celebration of life serv
ices for Mr. Barnes will be
held on Monday, April 5,
at 2 p.m. at the pavilion of
The Gathering Church,
with Rev. Charles Bennett
officiating. The family of
Mr. Barnes will receive
friends at The Gathering
Church Pavilion from 1
p.m. until the celebration
hour. The family requests
casual attire for the serv
ices.
Mr. Barnes was born in
Chattanooga, Tenn. Sept.
6, 1944, a son of the late
William H. and Sara
Louise Bankston Barnes.
He was a graduate of R.E.
Lee Institute, where he
was a member of the rifle
team. Mr. Barnes was a re
tired fueling operations
supervisor for Delta Air
lines. He was an avid deer
hunter, turkey hunter and
fisherman. He also en
joyed gardening, making
turkey calls, and riding his
Harley Davidson motor
cycle. Mr. Barnes was of
the Baptist faith.
Mr. Barnes is survived
by his wife, Barbara
Barnes of Milner; two
daughters, Cindy Barnes

“Steve” Bennett
Mr. Harry Stephen
“Steve” Bennett, age 72, of
Pike County, passed away
March 22, 2021, at his
home.
Steve was born April
27, 1948, and grew up in
Pike County, son of the
late Johnnie Virgil Bennett
and Jeannette Rawlins
Bennett. He graduated
from Pike County High
School. At one of the bas
ketball games, he noticed a
girl named Charlotte and
told everyone that he was
going to marry her some
day.
He enjoyed golfing,
coaching baseball, and
trips to the beach. Steve
was a generous, kind, and
honest man who was al
ways giving advice, help
ing people, and trying to
instill those qualities in
others because he wanted
them to succeed. He was
an incredible storyteller,
could remember every de
tail, and always made
people laugh. Steve shared
his love of music with his
daughters, his grandchil
dren, and most recently
with his great-grandchil
dren.
Steve worked for the
Georgia Department of
Transportation for more
than 25 years, retiring in
1994 as a project manager.
He owned several busi
nesses, including Tropical
Snow, Jo’s Wing, Mid-GA
Convenience Store, a video
arcade, Twice the Ice, and
Bennett Storage Proper
ties and Advertising. He
loved working, but the
highlight of his life was his
family.
In addition to his par
ents, he was preceded in
death by his brothers, Bob
Bennett and Tom Bennett.
He is survived by his
wife of 53 years, Charlotte
Turner Bennett; children,
Yvette B. Tolson and Jen
nifer Bennett (Bleu);
grandchildren, Devin
Jones (Katherine), Mor
gan, Shyla and Rylan;
great-grandchildren, Clara
Shaw Jones and Chap
Jones; siblings, Debbie B.
Dutton (James), Cindy B.
Cox (Danny) and Tim Ben
nett; mother-in-law, Clara
Turner; and many nieces,
nephews, and cousins.
Friends visited the
family Thursday, March
25 at the funeral home.

Mr. Buford Edward
Dudley, age 94, of Thom
aston, died Monday,
March 29, 2021 at Prov
idence Nursing Home.
Mr. Dudley was born
Nov. 19,1926, in Leesburg,
to the late Willie Dudley
and the late Eva Fordham
Hurd. He worked for Mar
tha Mills and retired as a
painter. He was a member
of Silvertown Baptist
Church.
In addition to his par
ents, he was preceded in
death by his wife, Ernes
tine Shepard Dudley; his
brothers, Haskel and Ed
ward Dudley; sister, Katie
Gresham; and his first
wife, Jean Wilma Dudley.
Survivors include his
sons, Edward "Ronnie"
(Wanda) Dudley of Stock-
bridge and Tommy (Step
hanie) Dudley of
Thomaston; daughter-in-
law, Sheri Dudley Duncan
of Thomaston; sister, Mar
tha Brackett (David) Ro
berson of Thomaston; six
grandchildren; and 14
great-grandchildren.
Graveside services
were held Wednesday,
March 31, from Upson Me
morial Gardens. The
family received friends one
hour prior to the service at
Coggins Funeral Home.

Mr. Gerald Thomas
Korink, age 73, of Thomas
ton, died Friday, March 5,
2021 at Upson Regional
Medical Center.
Mr. Korink was born in
Chicago, Ill, Feb. 16,1948,
a son of the late William
Arthur and Veronica Wel
don Korink. He was a vet
eran of the United States
Navy and served during
the Vietnam War. He was
a graduate of St. Joseph's
College, where he earned a
degree in electrical engi
neering.
Mr. Korink moved to
Georgia in 1977. He was
employed by Aldora Mills
in Barnesville from 1981
until 2006 and held the
position of facilities man
ager.
Mr. Korink was a
member of St. Peter the
Rock Catholic Church.
Mr. Korink is survived
by his wife, Linda F. Ko
rink; two daughters, Mi-
nette Suzanne Korink and
Charlotte Danielle Strong;
three sons, Thomas Jo
seph (Stephanie) Korink,
Travis Gene (Carly) Ko
rink, and Christopher Jo
seph Korink; a sister,
Gayle Korink; a brother,
William A. Korink, III; and
four grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by a son, Gerald An
thony "Tony" Korink, in
1995-

M. Zymowski
Mrs. Eileen M. Zy
mowski, age 82, of Means
ville, died Wednesday,
March 24, 2021 at Bright-
moor Hospice in Griffin.
Mrs. Zymowski was
born March 30, 1938, to
the late Vincent and the
late Marion Kromer Meyer
in New York. She retired
from the Broward County
Sheriff s Office as deputy.
She was a very giving per
son and enjoyed giving
back to her community.
She was a faithful
member of "We Share
With Love" Food Co-Op
for more than eight years.
She was a faithful member
of St. Peter The Rock Cath
olic Church.
Mrs. Zymowski is sur
vived by her daughter,
Jaqueline (Joseph) Rut-
kowski; daughter-in-law,
Tamara Nelson-Riker;
sister, Carol Schmiedicker;
three grandchildren,
Thomas (Kimberly) Dick
son, VI, Drew (Wes) Long,
and Michelle Rutkowski;
and her great grandchild,
Wesley Long. Several
nieces and nephews also
survive.
In addition to her par
ents, Mrs. Zymowski was
preceded in death by her
husband, Daniel R. Zy
mowski; son, David Riker;
sisters, Mary Ann Meyer
and Janie Sczepanski; and
her brothers, Carl Meyer
and Jesse Meyer.
The family will have a
private service at a later
date.

Mrs. Judy Lynn
Hamby, age 63, of Thom
aston, died Tuesday,
March 23, 2021 at her res
idence.
Mrs. Hamby was born
Oct. 23, 1957, to the late
Leonard Leon Hamby and
the late Evelyn Daniel
Hamby. She was of the
Baptist faith. She was pre
ceded in death by her par
ents.
Survivors include her
sons, Chris Thigpen of
Thomaston and Randy
(Michelle) Thigpen, all of
Thomaston; brother,
Kenny Hamby, Sr. of Ze-
bulon; grandchildren,
Gage (Marci) Thigpen,
Sean Thigpen, Brianna
Crawford, Erica Stevens,
and Dylan (Becca) Smith;
and great-grandchildren,
Avery Kate Thigpen, Kee
gan Crawford, Keely Craw
ford, Weston Smith, and
Chayton Smith.
Graveside memorial
services were held Friday,
March 26, from Green
wood Cemetery in Barnes
ville.
