SILVERTOWN BAI T. PARK AND THE UPSON T EE
KNIGHTS... one of the greatest joys of living in Silver-
town is when our UL Knights hit the Silvertown Ball
Park for a game... it’s a treat to hear our National An
them’s beautiful tune when the teams take to the
field... and on a good day, we also get to see our flag
waving freely above the park... such a beautiful site...
Then the cheers follow and echo all over the neighbor
hood... as a resident of Silvertown and being blessed
to live just down the street from the park... Our
Knights bring us a simple reminder that we do indeed
live in the greatest country on earth... Go Knights!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE, MARINE... Ian
Geis, a 2019 Upson Lee High School graduate, is in the Marine
Corps and has been deployed. His grandparents, Don and Pam
Bussey, want to send Ian and his platoon a care package along
with a little “thank you” note... We would like our community to
help... Our Marines are requesting Slim Jims, protein bars, and
hot Cheetos... If you would like to drop some supplies at the
Upson Beacon, we will get them to Pam... Or contact Pam Bus
sey on Facebook. This is one of those rare opportunities for us
to thank our service members... I am in, how about you?

Christians are celebrating
the resurrection of our Lord
and Savior. Believing that God raised His Son from
the dead is how an individual becomes a Christian.
We read in Romans 10:9 these words: “That if thou
shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him
from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”
We see that the heart and confession work to
gether. The confession must be backed up by the
heart. We know from Matthew 7:21 that Jesus said,
“Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall
enter into the kingdom of Heaven.”
Someone might live in a garage and call himself
a car, but it doesn’t make him one. Some attend a
church and call themselves Christians, but that does
n’t make them one. Once a sincere heart belief takes
place and a heart believing confession is made ac
cording to the scriptures, that individual is saved.
Purchasing new clothes and hiding eggs may be
a tradition for Easter, but the real meaning is that
Jesus Christ got up from the dead with the authority
over hell and death.
