Nasziaire Wyche gave the opening welcome to graduates before Principal Ricky English gave his re marks. Salutatorian Baleigh Moore reflected on the memories of growing up and reminded graduates to remember where they came from. Valedictorian Julian Passmore remembered the difficulties and struggles that led to that moment, re marking that the com munity highly impacted the class through the COVID-19 pandemic. Passmore chal lenged the class to bring forth the values and com passion to wherever members of the class go. Superintendent Dr. Larry Derico and English presented diplomas to 246 graduates. After speeches by Eliza beth Stewart and Madison Brundidge, senior members of the chorus sang the U-L Alma Mater. Dr. Derico then led the turning of the tassels and gave the nod for graduates to toss their grad uation caps. See the Upson Beacon’s annual graduation section inside.
