IT'S GETTING HOT OUT, SO PLEASE TAKE
CARE OF YOUR ANIMALS... the ASPCA has some
great tips on keeping our pets healthy during the
summer... Pets can get dehydrated quickly, so give them
plenty of fresh, clean water. Make sure your pets have a
shady place to get out of the sun, be careful not to over
exercise them, and keep them indoors when it’s ex
tremely hot... Know the symptoms of overheating in
pets, which include excessive panting or difficulty
breathing, increased heart and respiratory rate, drool
ing, mild weakness, stupor, or even collapse. Symptoms
can also include seizures... Brushing cats more often
than usual can prevent problems caused by excessive
heat... for more information, visit aspca.org.

It took the Thomaston-
Upson Joint Planning Com
mission just 12 minutes to
recommend the annexation
of two parcels surrounding
Hannahs Mill Reservoir into
the City of Thomaston from
Upson County.
The parcels, #043007
and #044001, are currently
zoned Agriculture Residen
tial and the recommended
annexation included rezon
ing the parcels into Thom-
aston’s Parks, Recreation,
and Green Space District
zoning classification.
There is no public access
to the reservoir which is
currently used to help
supply the City of Thomas
ton with water. The city
owns the land, although it is
not entirely clear when the
city came into ownership of
the property.
City Clerk Oasis Nichols
commented that it was
likely that the land was do
nated to the city, but never
actually annexed.
The board rec
ommended that the city
place no trespassing signs
around the property since it
is not a public park. Nichols

We have previously voted
and will be voting again soon.
Let’s consider that if the Lord Jesus Christ was a
candidate to be the President of the United States. I
don’t believe that He would be elected. He would not
accept abortion, same sex marriage, drag queens, or
this nation not supporting and blessing Israel.
The majority would not vote for Him. The major
ity will not allow Him to be in charge of their family.
The majority of churches do not allow Him complete
control. The good news about all of this is that the
Lord Jesus Christ is not up for election. He is God,
and beside Him there is none other. He is the soon
coming King of kings and Lord of lords. He will rule
this entire world for 1,000 years and all who have re
ceived Him as Lord and Saviour will step into the
eternal age.
I’m thankful that I don’t have to wait until No
vember to know who is in charge of my life. Praise
God, a Democrat or Republican can’t touch the sur
face when it comes to the power, love, compassion,
forgiveness, and leadership of the Lord Jesus.
He will never be voted out, demoted, or de
throned.
