I’m a project development manager at Brightmark bringing environmental solutions and sustainable jobs to communities. I have worked in environmental engineering my entire career, specifically focusing on clean water solutions, and I am dedicated to leaving this land better than we found it. I’m excited to continue working and partnering here in the community as we grow the team and develop job training programs. I am happy to answer community questions you may have about our future Thomaston Circularity Center. I look forward to working with you. Sincerely, Q: What was the strategy behind waiting for the public announcement of the Thomaston Circularity Center? Brightmark and the Thomaston Industrial Development Authority (IDA) spent ample time ensuring synergy between Brightmark and the Thomaston community. This included understanding the community’s needs, values, and the viability of bringing circular innovations to Thomaston. The IDA took time to understand Brightmark’s technology, including a visit to the Ashley Circularity Center to understand how the center will benefit the Thomaston community. Q: How will the size of this center compare to Thomaston's local Walmart? The building on-site will be larger than Thomaston’s local Walmart. The 2.5 million- square-foot circularity center will encompass the entire footprint of our site. This includes all buildings, exterior equipment, parking, rail, and roadways. An enclosed building will be nearly 300,000 square feet, with the remaining square footage dedicated to exterior equipment. Q: Will there be noise? Construction and development processes always produce some noise; however, once complete, the circularity center should have limited noise. The center’s location was strategically chosen in an industrial park to limit disturbances to the community. HAVE A QUESTION?
