No One Alone (NOA) will
be conducting auditions
for the 3rd annual North
Georgia's GotTalent com
petition every Monday
night from 8 to 10 p.m. at
Shenanigans during Open
Mic withTommy Pirone.
Additional auditions are
scheduled at United
Community Bank on
Morrison Moore Parkway
in Dahlonega on July 14,
and at Rocco's in Jasper
on July 6.There will be a
$40 entrance fee — all
proceeds go to help vic
tims of domestic violence
and abuse. If contestants
have not been pre-regis-
tered, there is no guaran
tee of a time slot at the
announced auditions, but
walk-ins are welcome.
Please bring backup
music, if needed, on a
travel drive. More audition
venues and dates will be
announced in the next few
weeks. Video auditions
will be accepted after the
registration form is com
pleted at www.noone-

The North Georgia
Crappie Anglers (NGCA) is
hosting its second annual
Fishin'With Military
Heroes fall fishing tourna
ment Sept. 28 at Lake
Lanier. This event honors
all of our military veteran
men and women who
have experienced physical
or emotional trauma and
is free of charge to all vet
eran participants.The
event is limited to 100 vet
erans. Lines will be in the
water at daylight and
weigh-in and lunch is at 1
p.m. at Bolding Mill Park.
Prizes will be awards for
the largest crappies and
seven largest crappies.
Crappies size limit is 10
inches or larger at weigh-
in. Veterans will not need
a license, tackle or bait. No
prior fishing experience is
required. NGCA members
will be on hand to teach or
help veterans to have a
great fishing experience.

The Padgett Family
History, "Our Journey to
Edmond of England," a
book by Padgett descen

with the north Georgia
