No coupons or other discounts may be applied to “Your Price” items. 3 vehicles involved in Toto Creek Bridge wreck By Jessica Taylor jtaylor@dawsonnews.com Dawson County Fire and Emergency Services responded to a multi-vehi cle wreck with numerous injuries Saturday afternoon. According to a press release from Fire Chief Danny Thompson, three engines and three med units responded, along with a med unit from Hall and Lumpkin counties. The incident occurred at the Dawson/Hall coun ty line on Price Road. According to the release, a critical patient was flown by Air Life to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA). Multiple patients were taken to Northeast Georgia and CHOA by various EMS ground units. A total of seven patients were taken from the scene. The cause of the wreck is under investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. Dawson and Hall County Sheriff’s Office assisted with traffic control at this incident. No other patient information is being released at this time. North Georgia Premium Outlets launches weekend summer Food Truck Series By Jessica Taylor jtaylor@dawsonnews.com North Georgia Premium Outlets has launched a Food Truck series during summer weekends. After the series kicked off Friday, July 5, food truck vendors will con tinue to set up shop at the outlet mall every subsequent Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m. Guests can enjoy comfort food, fries, fro zen treats and fan favor ites from hot dogs to lobster. Vendors set to participate include: Cousins Maine Lobster, Tikiz Shaved Ice & Ice Cream, Rio’s Italian Ice, Brooke Lynn’s Own, Love at Wurst Sight and Coach Joe’s Food Truck. Food trucks return to Dawsonville on Friday By Jessica Taylor jtaylor@dawsonnews.com The city of Dawson- ville’s Food Truck Friday series continues Friday in downtown at Bill Elliott Street and Tucker Avenue. Food bucks for the July 12 event include: Nana G’s Chicken &Waffles, June’s Flava!, Gonzo Gourmet, The Funnel Cake Guys, Jay’s Mexican Grill, Loloc’s BBQ, Sweet Treats by Leigh, Old Dad’s Wings, Frozen Freeze and the Amicalola Regional Farmers Market. As with past food truck nights, the event will be held on Bill Elliott Street and Tucker Avenue, behind the Purple Corn Boutique and across Shoal Creek Road from the sheriffs office. Both streets will be shut down around the Dawson County News for the festi val, but should not impede traffic around the square. Along with several food buck vendors, visitors can expect a bouncy house and slide, face painting, bal loon animals, corn hole, vendors from the Amicalola Regional Farmers Market and more. There will be desig nated parking, and the city hopes residents will take advantage of the new sidewalks leading into town. Jessica Taylor Dawson County News Lt. Chris Archeris a graduate of the basic Law Enforcement certification program. Lt. Archer graduates police academy From staff reports Dawson County Fire & Emergency Services announced on Friday that Lt. Chris Archer has suc cessfully completed the basic Law Enforcement certification program. The program was con ducted by the Georgia Public Safety Training Academy in Pickens County. It is a 12 week pro gram consisting of mental and physical training. Lt. Archer completed basic firearms training, emergency vehicle opera tions, Federal and State law, defensive tactics, as well as various other classroom and field-based lessons. “I couldn’t be prouder of the hard work Lt. Archer has put into this class,” Fire Chief Danny Thompson said. With this added certifi cation, Lt. Archer will become the primary Arson Investigator for the county. He is assigned as an Inspector and certified Plan Reviewer. He also continues to maintain his EMT-A certification and firefighter here in Dawson County.
