will be giving a speech
with the Fair Fight
Action Team at the
Habersham Recre
ation Center, located
at 120 Paul Franklin
Road in Clarkesville.
The event is co-hosted
by the Dawson Coun
ty Democratic Party
and the Habersham
County Democratic
Party. The Abrams
Fair Fight Action
Team will make a
presentation at 5:30
p.m. while Abrams
meets with 9th Dis
trict candidates. She
will make a speech at
6 p.m. and be available
for photos afterwards.

BRAVE Beyond the
Call, a nonprofit
dedicated to honor

nual 22 Strike Out at
Stars and Strikes from
9 a.m. to noon Sept.
21. The fundraiser is
planned to educate
and raise awareness in
the community that
22 veterans die each
year from suicide.
Each team will have a
local veteran as their
team captain. The cost
to bowl in $30 per
person which includes
two hours of bowl
ing, shoe rental and
pizza and drinks after

Crappie Anglers
(NGCA) is hosting its
second annual Fishin
With Military Heroes
fall fishing tourna
ment Sept. 28 at Lake
Lanier. This event
honors all of our mili
tary veteran men and
women who have ex
perienced physical or
emotional trauma and
is free of charge to all
veteran participants.
The event is limited
to 100 veterans. Lines
will be in the water at
daylight and weigh-in
and lunch is at 1 p.m.
at Bolding Mill Park.
Prizes will be awards
for the largest crap-
pies and seven largest
crappies. Crappies
size limit is 10 inches
or larger at weigh-in.
Veterans will not need
a license, tackle or
bait. No prior fishing
experience is required.
NGCA members will
be on hand to teach
or help veterans to
have a great fishing
