stop by the farm located off Hwy. 136 West from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days
a week to enjoy the 30 acres of sunflowers the farm has to offer.

Even though the weath
er is still hot enough for
summer fun, fall festivi
ties are right around the
comer in north Georgia.
This weekend, several
Dawson County fall sta
ples will be celebrating
their grand season
openings.
Uncle Shuck's Corn
Maze
Uncle Shuck’s Corn
Maze is celebrating its
grand opening on Sept.
14 in its new location.
Now located off Hwy. 9
near Rock Creek Park,
Uncle Shuck’s will open
at 10 a.m. Saturday with
all the fun activities locals
have enjoyed at the corn
maze for the last 18 years.
Beyond the two corn
mazes, Uncle Shuck’s
offers a pumpkin patch,
corn cannons, a jumping
pad, a goat walk as well
as food and fall decora
tions for sale.
The corn maze and
pumpkin patch will be
open from 4 to 10 p.m.
Fridays, 10 a.m. to 10
p.m. Saturdays and 10
a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays
during September. Uncle
Shuck’s will be open until
Nov. 17.
Tickets are $15 per per
son. Kids ages 4 and
under are free. Admission
includes access to the 13
acre com maze, unlimited
wagon rides, bon fire
with marshmallows after
dark, three shots on the
corn cannon, jumping
pad, tire mountain, the
kiddie maze and the goat
walk.

Fausett Farms’ sun
flowers have been a hit in
Dawson County since
2011 when it welcomed
more than 30 acres of
golden sunflowers,
though the family farm
has been operational
since 1858.
Surrounded by moun
tain scenery, Fausett
Farms boasts more than
900,000 sunflowers and
offers miles of horse rid
ing trails, mule-drawn
wagon rides, barbecue
and local honey.
Pets are welcome to
enjoy the farm but must
be on a leash.
Admission is $5 per
person. Kids ages 5 and
under are free.
Professional photography
is allowed at the farm for
$35 per session.
The farm will opens for
the 2019 on Sept. 14 and
is open from 8 a.m. to 7
p.m. seven days a week.

Burt's Pumpkin
Farm
Burt’s Pumpkin Farm
got an early jump on the
fall season by welcoming
fall enthusiasts on Sept.
1. The farm offers a
pumpkin patch, country
store and daily hayrides.
The pumpkin patch and
store are open daily from
9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Admission and parking
are free. Tickets for the
hayride are $6 per person.
Children ages 2 and
under are free.
Pets and firearms are
not allowed at Burt’s
Farm.

off Hwy. 52 near
Amicalola Falls State

explorers, Amicalola
Falls State Park draws
thousands of leaf lookers
each year and offers hik
ing trails and a spectacu
lar view of the tallest cas
cading waterfall in the
Southeast.
Though the leaves
won’t be changing just
yet, the park offers plenty
of hiking trails and
adventures for outdoor
enthusiasts of all ages.
Visitors can fly through
the trees on a series of zip
lines, partake in a GPS
scavenger hunt, complete
a survivalist camp and
share stories around the
fire pit.
Park hours are 7 a.m. to
10 p.m. and admission is
$5 per car.

Papa Pat's Corn
Maze
Papa Pat’s Corn Maze
is set to celebrate its
grand opening next week.
Right off of Hwy. 53 at
Gober Hill, Papa Pat’s
offers a pumpkin patch
and hayride along with
the com maze fun.
Papa Pat’s will begin its
first season at 10 a.m. and
will be open until 10 p.m.
Sept. 20.
Papa Pat’s is located at
4525 Hwy. 53 E in
Dawsonville.
