washing. Raw fruits and vegetables
shall be thoroughly washed in water,
in a sink designated for that purpose
only, to remove soil and other con
taminants before being cut and
offered for consumption in ready-to-
eat form. COS: Lettuce was removed
from the containers, washed and spun
in salad spinner before being put into
another bulk container for making
customer salads.

non-profit organization is operated
solely by volunteers. We are open 7
days a week. Volunteers are needed
for mornings 10:00 a.m. until 1:30
p.m., afternoons 1:30 until 5:00 p.m.

OBITUARIES
Doris Louise Grogan Garrett
Doris Louise Grogan Garrett, 87, of
Cumming, died Thursday, Dec. 5,2019.
She was a member of Concord Baptist
Church. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Roy Garrett; parents, Anna and
Andrew Grogan; in-laws, Joel and Grace
Garrett; and a number of brothers and sis
ters.
She is survived by her children, Trudy
and David Ayers of Mt. Airy, Tony Garrett
of Cumming, Regina and Tony Bennett of
Cumming, Pam and Jeff Stephens of
Cumming; grandchildren, Joey and Kim
Ayers, Kayla and Jody Hubbard, Taylor and
Chris Burnett, Emily and Kyle Phillips,
Natalie Bennett, Kelli and Josh Kilpatrick,
Kyle Stephens; great grandchildren, Grade
Hubbard, Anna Ayers, Rollins Phillips; sis
ter, Mozelle Andrews; and a large number
of nieces, nephews and others also survive.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Dec.
8 at Concord Baptist Church with Dr. Scott
Gilbert, Dr. Rubin Smith and Rev. Danny
Bennett officiating. Interment followed in
Sawnee View Gardens.
The family received friends at Ingram
Funeral Home on Dec. 7 from 2 until 9 p.m.
and Dec. 8 from 9 a.m until hour of the ser
vice.

Cumming was in charge of arrangements.

Melba M. Hatton
Melba M. Hatton, 71, of Dawsonville,
died Friday Dec. 6, 2019 at her residence
following a period of declining health.
Bom January 14, 1948 to the late James
and Eula Bell Norwood, she had spent most
of her life in North Georgia. Melba retired
from K-Mart after 20 years of service after
which she was employed by Stein Mart for
nine years.
A member of the American Legion
Auxiliary in Buford, she was also preceded
in death by her husbands, Raymond H.
“Larry” Hatton, Hotrod McKenzie; daugh
ter, Sabrina McKenzie; grandson, Tyler
McKenzie, granddaughter, Alicia Bom;
brother, Sidney Norwood.
Surviving are her children, Tony Ray
Shirley, Samantha Gail Adams; seven
grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sis
ter, Janice Bailey, all of Dawsonville.
Memorial services will be held Saturday,
The Padgett Family History, "Our
Journey to Edmond of England," a book
by Padgett descendants, is now avail
able at the Dawson County Library.The
history begins with the north Georgia
families and traces the lines to Edmond
in Virginia and on to Edmond born 1638
in England.The library is located at 342
Allen Street in Dawsonville.
The Dawson County Library is
hosting Adult Craft Night on the last
Tuesday of each month. Registration

Chris Richardson
Chris Richardson, 51, of Bishop, died
Monday, Dec. 2,2019 at Piedmont Hospital.
Bom Aug. 27,1968 he had lived in Bishop
for the past eight years.
Chris was bom and raised in Griffin and
was a 1986 graduate of Griffin High School.
He attended Georgia Tech and earned a
Bachelor’s Degree in Business
Administration from Clayton State
University. He worked as a Senior HR
Manager at AT&T for over 20 years and con
tinued to work until his illness prevented it. A
beloved son, brother, husband, father and
fiiend, he was an avid reader, loved music,
and especially his pets. Chris was preceded
in death by his father, Dennis Richardson.
Surviving are his wife, Cathy Kilroe-Smith
Richardson, Bishop; children, Jordan,
William and Genevieve; mother and stepfa
ther, Jean and Greg Thomas, Dahlonega;
brothers, Jon Richardson, Matt and Kristin
Richardson, Dahlonega; sisters, Tifanie
Keldorph, N.C., Lori Woolwine, Monroe;
aunt and uncle, Judy and Carl Haas, Ellijay;
mother-in-law and father- in-law, Shirley and
Ben Durham, South Africa; nieces and neph
ews, Donovan, Maya, Maddie, Mary Anglin.
Reagan; his loving family in South Africa;
Various other relatives also survive.
A memorial service was held on Saturday,
Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Campus View Church of
Christ. It was officiated by Lead Minister
Jerry Neill.
The family received friends at the church
beginning at 10 am. on Saturday.
