seniors as coronaviurs outbreak spreads in Ga.
By Erica Schmidt
eshmidt@dawsonnews.com
A local resident is offering her services to
senior citizens of Dawson County and
Lumpkin County who may need assistance
while at home due to coronavirus precautions.
Kim Newsome said that she wants to help
any seniors who may be stuck at home or
wary of leaving the house while COVID-19
is spreading through Georgia.
“If they need groceries like milk, eggs,
bread or whatever, I can go pick them up and
deliver them and they can pay me back for
them,” Newsome said. “There are going to be
isolated seniors in the county, and I just want
to help whoever I can.”
Newsome added that she is looking for
other people to volunteer alongside her in
providing assistance to seniors.
“If anyone has the ability to volunteer with
me, I have a feeling I will need them,”
Newsome said.
If you or someone you know is a senior
citizen in need of assistance or if you
would like to help volunteer with Kim to
help local seniors, call Newsome at (706)
864-1087.
