Gibbs added that, with flu season approaching, he and other school administrators will be keeping an eye on the number of flu cases in the school system too. “I had a board of health meeting this morning and we talked about the possi bility of flu this year; as you know last year we had very little flu,” Gibbs said. “This year the emergency room physi cian {on the board of health} said that they have seen a steady influx of flu cases of flu A this year, so it may be a different kind of year than we had last year.” Gibbs said that the school system will continue to take every precaution possi ble to prevent both flu and covid cases as low as possible in the district. “We’re gonna continue to clean our surfaces and encourage our kids to wash their hands and be safe and hope fully we will have a mild flu season,” Gibbs said.
