Law enforcement needs the pub
lic’s help in identifying a man sus
pected of sexually assaulting multi
ple people at department stores in
Dawson County.
“The suspect is a white male,
approximately 5’5” to 5’8” tall,”
Sheriff Jeff Johnson said in an
emailed statement. “As depicted in
the photograph, the suspect is of
medium weight. The suspect is
described as having shoulder length
brown hair which he sometimes
wears in a ‘ponytail’.”
The Dawson County Sheriff’s
Office put out the initial BOLO
Monday, Oct. 18, for the suspect
regarding the assault of an employee
at North Georgia Premium Outlets.
The first reported incident happened
at the outlet mall’s Boss Leggings
Store on Oct. 15, Johnson said.
Over the past week, the sheriff’s
office has learned about “numerous
other reports of crimes committed by
this individual,” according to a fol
low-up Facebook post Wednesday.
Some female victims report that
the suspect rubbed himself against
them, and others said he fondled
himself, being unexposed while his
hands were in his pocket.
The sheriff’s office is asking peo
ple to continue sharing the BOLO
and to contact them with any infor
mation on the suspect.
People can contact Investigator
Boyce with any tips at (706) 344-
3535.

early voting ends
By Erica Jones

Advanced voting for the Dawsonville
Municipal Election is nearing the close of
its second week, and according to Board of
Elections officials the voter turnout so far
has been lower than in past years.
Glenda Ferguson, Dawson County Board
of Elections director, said as of midday on
Thursday, Oct. 21, 65 city residents had
cast their votes in person and one absentee
ballot had been returned by mail.
“It’s been slow; we’re at a total of 65 for
all of advanced, in-person voting,”
Ferguson said, “and we’ve had about eight
requests for absentee ballots by mail and
only had one of those returned, so it’s
slower than I think it should be.”
The ballot for this election consists of
