The suspect is described as having shoulder length brown hair which he sometimes wears in a ‘ponytail’.” The Dawson County Sheriff’s Office put out the initial BOLO Monday, Oct. 18, for the suspect regarding the assault of an employee at North Georgia Premium Outlets. The first reported incident happened at the outlet mall’s Boss Leggings Store on Oct. 15, Johnson said. Over the past week, the sheriff’s office has learned about “numerous other reports of crimes committed by this individual,” according to a fol low-up Facebook post Wednesday. Some female victims report that the suspect rubbed himself against them, and others said he fondled himself, being unexposed while his hands were in his pocket. The sheriff’s office is asking peo ple to continue sharing the BOLO and to contact them with any infor mation on the suspect. People can contact Investigator Boyce with any tips at (706) 344- 3535. Turnout low as second week of early voting ends By Erica Jones ejones@dawsonnews.com Advanced voting for the Dawsonville Municipal Election is nearing the close of its second week, and according to Board of Elections officials the voter turnout so far has been lower than in past years. Glenda Ferguson, Dawson County Board of Elections director, said as of midday on Thursday, Oct. 21, 65 city residents had cast their votes in person and one absentee ballot had been returned by mail. “It’s been slow; we’re at a total of 65 for all of advanced, in-person voting,” Ferguson said, “and we’ve had about eight requests for absentee ballots by mail and only had one of those returned, so it’s slower than I think it should be.” The ballot for this election consists of See Voting 12A Dawson Market Place could gain store, restaurant next to Kroger Julia Fechter jfechter@dawsonnews.com Stores along the Dawson Market Place commerce hub are one step closer to hav ing a new neighbor in the future. Tuesday night, the planning commission recommended approval for all-offsite park ing at a forthcoming restaurant or retail space next to Kroger Marketplace. They also gave the preliminary thumbs- up for a driveway variance to the future business. Dawson County’s Board of Commissioners will ultimately vote to approve or deny these variances at its Nov. 16 meeting.
