This same male, described as a white male approximately 5’8”-5T0” between 175-200 lbs. with small, decaying teeth, is also being investigated for similar allegations in Dawson County and other jurisdictions, the GCPD release stated. Authorities are also looking for that man in relation to mul tiple alleged instances in the North Georgia Premium Outlets area throughout October 2021. At that time, victims reported a man for either allegedly rubbing him self against them or allegedly exposing his genitals. In Gwinnett, the suspect is accused in two different inci dents that took place earlier this year. On March 17, he allegedly entered the Clothes Mentor store in Buford. The victim from that instance stat ed they assisted the suspect in the store when the man alleg edly rubbed his body on them while exposing his private parts, according to the GCPD release. It’s not known whether the man left on foot or via vehicle after exiting the store. Then on July 6, the man was supposed ly involved in an incident at the Mall of Georgia’s Vans store. The suspect allegedly rubbed his body on the victim and exposed his private parts. When the victim alerted co workers, the man fled the store on foot into the mall. Witnesses are encouraged to call GCPD investigators, DCSO or Atlanta Crime Stoppers with any helpful information. Lumpkin Campground celebrates 192 years of camp meetings By Erica Jones ejones@dawsonnews.com This past week, Lumpkin Campground in Dawson County celebrat ed its 192nd consecutive year of camp meetings. The camp meeting kicked off on Monday July 25 and ran every day through Sunday July 31. The host pastor was David Sanders, ministers were Warren Lathem and Jason Hamby, and the song leader was Barry Slaton. The week began with congregants gathering and moving into their “tents” at the camp ground on Monday, where they stayed for the week. Gordon Pirkle, owner of local restaurant The Pool Room, and his family set up tables and provided hamburgers and hotdogs for all of the preachers and congre gants who were there on Monday night. Judge denies Miranda motion in Roberts case By Julia Fechter jfechter@dawsonnews.com The judge presiding over the case of the Dawsonville man accused in Kaleb Duckworth’s 2021 death has ruled on several more motions after a July 15 hearing. The last of three public meetings was held July 28 at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame to solicit community input and questions about the byway proposal.
