‘It’s been a long time coming:’
The Stables Motor Condos breaks
ground on development in Forsyth

ment - along with local government officials and members of the Forsyth County and North
Fulton chambers of commerce.

A development that will
include luxury car storage
recently shifted to a new gear.
On Thursday, July 21, offi
cials with The Stables Motor
Condos held a groundbreaking
ceremony for the development
on 5705 Stables Way off Atlanta
Highway in south Forsyth.
According to a news release,
the project, “comprises more
than 73,000 square feet of multi
use space and is currently
offered as a private garage/stor
age condominium facility with
38 private garage condos, in
addition to 29 personal ware
houses designed for work, store
and play.”
“It’s been a long time coming,
but we are finally groundbreak
ing for The Stables Motor
Condos in Forsyth County,” said
Jeff Beal, co-founder and man
aging partner of The Stables.
“We have been working on this
for so long with the county com
missioners and officials. We’ve
gone through trials and tribula
tions, and we are now here.”
“This property, this develop
ment alone, will have approxi
mately 60-plus units and they’re
garage condos, workspace,
small businesses ... that can go
here in this location,” he said.
The groundbreaking ceremo
ny was attended by officials
with The Stables and The
Agency North Atlanta - a real
estate brokerage representing
the development - along with
local government officials and
members of the Forsyth County
and North Fulton chambers of
commerce.
In a news release, officials
said the completion date for the
project was spring 2023, and
Beal said grading would start
within days of the groundbreak
ing, with the aim of having a
foundation laid by November.
Despite the timeline, Beal
said the development is already
seeing interest from clients.
“Our true vision was a com
munity for like-minded individ
uals, whether that’s car-enthusi
asts, weekend hobbyists, motor
sports-enthusiasts, guys like
that,” he said. “Out of the 60
units, we’ve got about 20% pre
sold or pre-registered.”
Plans for The Stables have
been discussed at Forsyth
County Board of Commissioner
meetings since 2017, and com
missioners approved the project
in October by approving a
request to rezone 9.09 acres of
land from CBD to a restricted
industrial district, Ml for ware
houses, storage buildings, offic
es, showrooms and a high-end
automotive retail village and car
storage facility in buildings
totaling 76,600 square feet with
82 parking spaces.

United Way to host inaugural ‘Run United Dawson 5K’

In just under a month, United
Way for Dawson County will
host its inaugural “Run United
Dawson 5K” in support of the
local nonprofit.
The race will take place at
Rock Creek Park on Saturday,
Aug. 27 at 8 a.m. According to
race information, the course is
a “flat and fast certified” course
that is ideal for all age groups
to run.
Those interested in running
the race are encouraged to sign
up by August 17 to get the best
pricing and to guarantee they
receive a race shirt in their
size. All proceeds will go to
support United Way for
Dawson County.
For those unable to make it to
the event on race day, there is
also a virtual 5K option. Those
participating in the virtual
option can sign up online,
download a custom digital bib,
run or walk the 5K at any loca
tion and submit results on
runsignup.com and on the vir
tual results page anytime
through the end of race day on
Aug. 27.
Regular pricing for runners is
$30 for the in-person 5K, $25
for the in-person 5K without a
t-shirt and $30 for the virtual
5K. Late pricing for those who
sign up after Aug. 17 is $35 for
the in-person 5K, $30 for the
in-person 5K without a t-shirt
and $30 for the virtual 5K.
There are group discounts for
teams that sign up and partici
pate together in the race.
Groups of 5 or more will
receive $2.50 off, 11 or more
will receive $3.75 off, 21 or
more will receive $5 off, 51 or
more will receive $6.25 off and
100 or more will receive $7.50
off. Participants who refer
friends to join will also receive
a chance to win cool “swag”
the day of the race.
Winners of each of the cate
gories in the 5K will receive
custom awards. These catego
ries include top 3 overall for
Male and Female, top 3 overall
for Master Male and Female,
top 3 overall for Grand Master
Male and Female and top 3 in
all the 5-year age groups from
10 and under to 80 and over.
