We'll be creating building blocks of early literacy through songs, action rhymes, books, and playtime. These are wonderful times for your babies to hear lots of language, and a great opportunity for you to meet new parents! (Structured activity for 15 minutes with playtime after). SAT FEB 17 11AM YOUTH ORCHESTRA EXHIBITION AUDITIONS FOR STUDENT MUSICIANS FORSYTH COUNTY ARTS AND LEARNING CENTER 1150 Dahlonega Hwy, Cumming, GA, 30040 Student musicians of all levels are invited to participate in the second annual Youth Orchestra Exhibition of the Symphony Orchestra of North Georgia (SONG). Under the direction of Dr. S. Eric Hawk, participants will rehearse and perform with members of SONG in a one day event on March 10 at the beautiful FoCAL performing arts center in Cumming. Auditions are open to strings, wind, brass, and percussion, elementary through high school students of all levels. New this year: We will have two groups: 1) Beginner strings with at least one year of lessons/experience and 2) Youth Orchestra for intermediate through advanced strings, winds, brass and percussion. There is no application fee nor audition for the Beginner strings. An application fee of $25 and audition of the provided excerpt is required for Youth Orchestra participants. This is a wonderful opportunity to perform outstanding music in a beautiful venue. This event is made possible with a grant from the Forsyth County Arts Alliance Fund at the North Georgia Community Foundation. We have a collection of vintage paper dolls waiting for you to cut out and play with. We also have several Barbie dolls that need your love and care. We'll provide fabric and instructions for no-sew clothes. Dress a Barbie, and you can take it home or donate it to a local shelter. Blessings in a Backpack Forsyth is ran by Lambert High School students. Each week they pack meals for over 460 school age Forsyth County Students to merge the hunger gap over the weekends. Most kids in the Blessings in a Backpack program will never get to see a circus show or even travel to see performances. If you can't afford food, affording a day of family fun is also not in the budget. A Circus Blessing will provide every student in the Blessings in a Backpcak program a free ticket to the event. All donations and funds collected from A Circus Blessing will go directly to Blessings in a Backpack Forsyth. With your help, A Circus Blessing will truly be like no other!
