Keith Family Medicine is now located at 150 Northside Dawson Drive. By Erica Jones ejones@dawsonnews.com On Tuesday Jan. 16, local medical practice Keith Family Medicine celebrated its new location in Dawson County, as well as the practice joining the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce. Previously, Keith Family Medicine was located off of Highway 53 near Highway 400. After several years there, Owner and Family Doctor Nabil Keith said, he decided that building a new location for the practice would be ben eficial to his staff and patients alike. “We were on 53 and 400; we stayed there for a few years but it wasn’t very com fortable for the patients get ting in so we said we needed our own place,” Keith said. “We moved for better service in general — it’s better for everybody.” Keith Family Medicine has been in its new building, located at 150 Northside Dawson Drive, for about a month now, and he said that so far he’s heard great feed back about the new location. “We’re here to serve the community; we get the feed back from them and it’s very rewarding and feels awe some,” Keith said. Keith Family Medicine offers primary care services, including preventative care, acute and chronic care, immi gration physicals, allergy testing, diagnostic imaging and more. In addition to celebrating the new building, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon-cut ting ceremony for Keith Family Medicine on Jan. 16 to welcome the practice to the chamber. Before cutting the ribbon for the practice, Dawson County Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mandy Power welcomed Keith, along with his family and his staff, to the chamber. “I am super excited to be here today to welcome Keith Family Medicine and their new facility to the chamber,” Power said. “Small business is really the heart of our com munity and the heart of our chamber.” For more information about Keith Family Medicine or to schedule an appointment, go to https://keithfamilymedi- cine.com/ or call 706-216- 4444. Following inspections, restaurants are given a letter grade that coincides with a percentile: ‘A’ (90- 100), “B” (80-89), “C” (70- 79), “U” or unsatisfactory (69 and below). Ste. 115, Dawsonville Score: 100; Grade: A Pauline Ivey Senior Center Location: 237 Recreation Rd., Dawsonville Score: 100; Grade: A Panda Express Location: 85 Marketplace Blvd., Dawsonville Score: 91; Grade: A Jan. 17 Olive Garden Location: 15 Wallace Blvd., Dawsonville Score: 95; Grade: A Pokeyaki Location:145 Forest Blvd. Ste. 450, Dawsonville Score: 74; Grade: C The restaurant received a grade of C for the fol lowing reasons: • No time was being marked or tracking for the sushi rice. The person in charge sub sequently wrote the time on the container to log it that way. • No paper towels were available at the kitch en hand sink. This was corrected during the inspection. • The kitchen hand sink was blocked by buck ets of soy sauce and cooking oil. • The inside of the ice machine had build-up of mold on the walls of its bin and baffle. The machine was to be emptied for clean ing and sanitizing after the inspection at the end of the day. • The tea nozzles had mold debris inside. • There was not a suit able thermometer pro vided or easily acces sible to measure the internal temperatures of food products. • An employee at the front service area and another worker in the kitchen were prepar ing food without hair restraints. • Hot water was shut off at the employees’ handwashing sink in the kitchen, and work ers had been using a sink between the front food service and kitchen entrance areas. • This food score was Pokeyaki’s third C within the past two- plus years. The res taurant earned a 79 on a September 2021 inspection and a 71 on a November 2022 inspection.
