FAYETTE FOOTPRINTS B2 Fayette County News Wednesday, February 1,2023 Third Annual PALS Pageant Hosted by Starr's Mill Sydney Spencer News Reporter sspencer@fayette-news.net Starr’s Mill High School hosted its third annual PALS Pageant on Jan. 28 at the Willie Duke Auditorium in Fayetteville. The Peers Are Linking Students Club is a club put in place to rep resent inclusion among stu dents with and without disabilities, helping them form relationships and par ticipate in activities in and outside of school. This year’s pageant in cluded a warm welcome and opening remarks, fol lowed by an introduction of each participant and escort. Emcees for the night were Nash Glover and Ava Hall, who kept the crowd en gaged and involved. Each special needs student was escorted by a general edu cation student. During the intermis sion, final voting took place for the People’s Choice Award and Silent Auction bidding closed for artwork in the lobby. The talent ex hibition took place after in termission, when all participants showcased their talents for the au dience. After the talent exhi bition, the announcement of the People’s Choice Award for a male and fe male participant were de clared. Adam Wingate was voted the male winner, and Alicia Sulkowski was the fe male winner. The night ended with all participants being awarded a sash for their involvement in the pageant. The au dience applauded in sup port of the talent displayed and overall satisfaction of another year of positivity and incorporation of stu dents with special needs and their peers. Participants, in order of appearance, included Ava Mossman, Lilly Hynson, Alicia Sulkowski, Sienna Marshall, Kaylee Britt, Avrey Bradley, Caroline Kern, Olivia Ray, Elbe Sills, Bailey Tourre, Ella Green berg, Kathryn Hollett, Kenya Sharp, Lyla Caplan, Liwy Zimmerman, Elieen Simmons, Olivia Garner, Brianna Clipp, Demi Baus, and Kylie Domangue. Escorts, in order of ap pearance, included Benja min Millspaugh, Aidan Barnhart, Cayden Olvey, Bobby Harper, Noah An derson, Carlos Alzuarge, Keyon Ellis, Trey Weems, Landon Noel, Adam Win gate, James Bender, Jayden Williams, Taylor Smith, Will Lasiter, Gregory Hayes, Aaron Price, Brady Bowers, Angel Salinos, and Nash Glover.
