County Poetry Recitation Winners Advance to Region

nual Fayette County Po
etry Recitation Contest.
Winners in each grade
level are advancing to re
gional competition.
The victors are Brae-
linn Elementary’s Oliver
Queen (kindergarten),
Kedron Elementary’s
Aarya Jaiganesh (first
grade), Spring Hill Ele
mentary’s Kayla Williams
(second grade), Kedron
Elementary’s Jaida Shields
(third grade), Peeples Ele
mentary’s Elijah White
(fourth grade), and Cleve
land Elementary’s Piper
Kendrick (fifth grade).
Students are judged on
stage presence, articula
tion, interpretation, diffi
culty of piece, and memory
and accuracy. They can
earn extra points for flu
ency, gestures, and expres
sion.

val includes students from
school systems of Butts,
Fayette, Henry, Lamar,
Newton, Pike, Spalding,
and Upson counties.
