Wednesday, February 22,2023 Fayette County News A5 Fayetteville Man Arrested for Stabbing Grandfather County, Cities Report Arrests, Charges On Jan. 31, the Fayette County Sheriffs Office re sponded to a domestic vio lence call at a residence within Brandon Mill subdivision in Fayetteville. Authorities soon found that a victim had been stabbed by a family member, resulting in the victim being transported to Grady Hospi tal. Fayetteville resident Corey Michael White, 26, was taken into custody for alleg edly stabbing his grandfather over a verbal altercation, ac cording to FCSO officials. “The incident involved an apparent argument between White and his grandfather. The grandfather was the vic tim and, who we believe, is 83. [The grandson] was charged with aggravated assault, pos session of a knife during com mission of a crime, and elder abuse,” authorities reported. When Fayette County News received report of the incident, White was incarcer ated at Fayette County Jail and his grandfather was in se rious, yet stable, condition. Recent arrests and charges reported by the FCSO include: Jeffrey F Anderson - Ag gravated Assault Darren S Batteast - Drug Possession/Sale/Manufact Darren G Henry - Proba tion/Parole violation Boden T Serrano - Sen tenced on Previous Offense Quentin L Tumbling - Fai lure to Register PTC Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest of Jonesboro Man for Possession of 7 Ounces of Marijuana & Firearm PEACHTREE CITY - On Feb. 15, Peachtree City Police Department arrested 21-year- old Ameer Nobles of Jones boro on drug possession and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony. According to the PTC PD report, the incident began when an officer conducted a traffic stop on a Toyota pas senger car that was traveling eastbound on Highway 54 near South Peachtree Park way for a headlight and seat- belt violation. The driver, Nobles, was discovered to be carrying more than seven ounces of marijuana and a loaded hand gun. He was arrested for pos session with intent to distribute marijuana and pos session of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Nobles was transported to Fayette County Jail following the arrest. PTC Police Make Arrest in Organized Crime Case PEACHTREE CITY - When it comes to community protection, the Peachtree City Police Department ensures officials keep track of what oc curs within the community. On Feb. 8, the department made an arrest that revealed how an entering-auto case can lead to organized crime cases. On Wednesday, officers responded to the Rock Gym nastic Center off Highway 54 to a series of vehicle break- ins, according to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Chris Hyatt. Police identified Laquaila Thomas of Fort Lau derdale as the offender, but investigation revealed she was not working alone. “She and several of her unknown ones (we’re waiting to see with investigation) were basically breaking into win dows behind the Rock Gym nastic Center. They were breaking into cars. Then, at tempted to use our victim’s credit cards at various retail establishments for gift cards,” Hyatt said. Hyatt referred to the group as an “organized crime” group as he discussed the in cident in detail with Fayette County News, stating the group continued its spree throughout the Metro Atlanta area. That is, until members of the Georgia State Patrol chased the vehicle that PTC PD placed a “be on the look out” alert on, in efforts to catch the group. “[The group] gets wrecked out and taken into custody. The case is still under investi gation with our detective divi sion,” Hyatt said. According to Hyatt, this group has operated around the Southeast region of the United States, including Flor ida and Alabama. This one, particularly, originated in Florida and has been working its way up the Southeast. PTC PD is still investigat ing the group and the inci dents that occurred within its area. PTC Man Attempts to Take Taser to Avoid Arrest PEACHTREE CITY - A call to remove a disgruntled employee from a local busi ness on Feb. 13 led to more than just an argument, when Jaiden Stegall attempted to remove a taser from an of ficers’ hip during his arrest. The incident began that morning, when a call was made to Peachtree City Police Department from Sany Amer ica about an employee, Ste gall, who was refusing to leave the premises, according to Peachtree spokesperson Chris Hyatt. Not only did Stegall refuse to leave, but he also assaulted members of the human re source team of Sany America. When officers arrived on scene, they attempted to keep Stegall from leaving, but Ste gall had other plans: to leave the premises. He reportedly refused to listen to the in structions of officers and at tempted to stop an officer from entering his vehicle. Stegall then reached for the taser of one of the officers, attempted to remove the weapon, and an altercation ensued between officers and Stegall. Not long after the al tercation, Stegall was placed under arrest. Stegall was arrested on one felony charge of removal of weapon from officer, one felony charge of obstruction of officer, one misdemeanor charge of criminal trespass, and two charges of misde meanor simple battery, due to the assault of employees at Sany America. This was not the first inci dent between Stegall and PTC police. Just one day prior, on Feb. 12, a PTC PD officer con ducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord in the area of Highway 564 and Planterra Way, due to the vehicle having a brake light out and the reg istered owner having a sus pended license, according to reports. The driver, Stegall, was not the registered owner of the vehicle, but officials say there was an odor of mari juana coming from the ve hicle. A vehicle search was con ducted, and nothing was found in the vehicle that tied Stegall to the substance, so he was released with copies of the citation. Stegall was transported to Fayette County Jail, where he was held without bond. K-9 Midas Assists in PTC Drug Arrest PEACHTREE CITY - The K-9 unit in Peachtree City has been making its rounds to en sure public safety for the res idents of the city, and in a recent incident, PTC K-9 Midas led the charge in the ar rest of a Senoia man on al leged drug possession. According to Peachtree City Police Department spokesman Chris Hyatt, an of ficer conducted a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima for illegal window tint on Highway 74 near Senoia Road in Peach tree City on Feb. 10. It was then that a roadside investiga tion took place, involving Midas and his handler. During the investigation, it was discovered that the oc cupant, Kaleb Gardner, was in possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, THC oil, according to the PTC PD re port. Gardner was arrested for one count of felony drug pos session with intent of sale/manufacture, one count of misdemeanor possession/use of drug-re lated objects, and one count of misdemeanor excessive tint on windshield. He was transported to Fayette County Jail on a war rant hold. Woodstock Man Arrested for Selling Defective Airplane Equipment PEACHTREE CITY -Mi chael Bryant of Woodstock was recently arrested on one felony count of theft by decep tion in Peachtree City, but the complexities of the arrest soar higher than sky miles alone. According to Peachtree City Police spokesperson Chris Hyatt, Bryant was alleg edly selling defective radio equipment to an airplane company, which led the de partment to issue warrants for his arrest. The incident hit a higher altitude when Hyatt learned that Cobb County Police De partment arrested Bryant in April 2022 for selling the same defective equipment, to the tune of about six figures in monetary value. After his arrest, Bryant was transferred to Fayette County Jail, where he is being held without bond.
