In Class AAAAA, McIn tosh is already headed to the Elite Eight. The team routed Arabia Mountain in two games in round one (19-0, 20-0), setting up a round- two battle with the Ola Mus tangs. Game one was a pitchers’ duel, with McIn tosh’s Chase Fralick hurling a gem in a 2-1 win over Ola. Fralick went six innings, striking out five and allow ing just four hits and one run over six innings of work. At the plate, he went three- for-four. James Hooper and Con nor Soper drove in the runs for the Chiefs. Game two was a thrilling rally for the home side in a 6-3 win. Ola plated runs in the second and third in nings to lead 3-0, and that margin held until the sixth, when the Chiefs’ bats woke up with three runs apiece in the last two frames. In Class 4A, Starr’s Mill swept North Oconee to punch a pair of tickets to the Elite Eight. The Starr’s Mill boys beat North Oconee, 14-10. The Panthers started quickly, building a 4-0 lead and holding a 6-1 advan tage after one quarter. North Oconee pulled within 8-5 at the half. In the second half, the Panthers held off a rally from the Titans to win 14- 10. Next is a quarterfinals road trip to play King’s Ridge on May 3. The Lady Panthers also beat North Oconee, 21-5. In Class AAAAA, the McIntosh boys were knocked out by Midtown, 2-0. The Lady Chiefs also lost to Midtown, 2-1. In Class AAAA, the Whitewater boys lost to Johnson, 7-1. The Lady Wildcats lost to Holy Innocents, 4-3. The Starr’s Mill girls were knocked out by Westminster, 6-0.
