Rezoning Request on
Green Meadow Lane
SP Meditec recently
broke ground on a 120,000-
square-foot, state-of-the-art
manufacturing facility that
is expected to create 200
new jobs in Peachtree City.
The plant, which will be
located off Georgia State
Route 74, is scheduled to
begin operations in August
2024.
Several factors played
into SP Meditec’s selection
of Peachtree City for their
company’s U.S. expansion.
Peter Fejfer, managing di
rector for the Denmark-
based business, cited the
south metro Atlanta com
munity’s proximity to the
world’s busiest airport,
skilled workforce, and
strategic location as reasons
behind the decision.
“We aim to tap into
Peachtree City’s talented
pool of professionals and
contribute to the local econ
omy,” Fejfer stated.

Spray Pad Open During September Weekends
Fayetteville Public Services De
partment has announced it will keep
the popular spray pad at City Center
Park open Saturdays and Sundays
throughout September. The two-
year-old feature closed after Labor
Day in 2021 and 2022.
The idea to extend the spray pad
season came from the city man
ager’s office after many Fayetteville
residents and guests said they would
like to enjoy the amenity a bit longer
while weather is expected to remain
warm, according to city officials.
The remaining opening days for
the 2023 spray pad season include
Aug. 29-Sept. 4, Sept. 9-10, Sept.
16-17, Sept. 23-24, and Sept. 30-
Oct. 1.
The spray pad will be closed for
the season after Oct. 1, and it is ex
pected to be reopened in May 2024.
Additional City Center Park
amenities, including the play
grounds, great lawn, dog park, walk
ing paths, and picnic pavilions,
remain open year-round.

Construction Plans
Confirmed for
Tyrone Post Office
In response to citizens
“increasingly asking us for
updates on the status of the
post office,” Tyrone offi
cials provided an update
last week on progress made
since the building caught
fire earlier this year.
Officials report that the
owner of the post office
building has hired a con
tractor who has submitted
required plans to the fire
department. The review is
complete and, once re
leased back to the contrac
tor, he can submit permit
applications to town offi
cials, who say they will ex
pedite the permitting
process “to the extent pos
sible once we receive the
application from the con
tractor.”
Once through the per
mitting process, construc
tion is estimated at six to
eight weeks. Following
completion, the United
States Postal Service will
begin the internal process
to ensure that the building
meets use criteria, and
town officials say they “do
not know how long this
process will take.”
Tyrone officials say they
will provide updates as sub
stantive information be
comes available. Until then,
they ask all questions on
