Courtesy of PTC 15th FMGA Plant Sale Slated April 13 Garden Tour Set April 27 Leah Banks Senior Reporter leah@fayette-news.net During a year bringing innovation and industry to the county, Peachtree City Mayor Kim Learnard and Fayette Chamber of Com merce President Leonardo McClarty recently dis cussed the flourishing business environment in PTC and Fayette County. “Fayette County is a great community,” McClarty said, “and cer tainly, for me. I have a young family of three daughters, the oldest in high school and two in ele mentary school. So, as you consider relocating, you al ways want to look at, well, what place has great com munity amenities, whether that’s schools, safety, op portunities for them, and certainly I think Fayette County has all of that.” Learnard shared exam ples of conversations she regularly hears regarding Fayette Chamber of Commerce announced its annual cornhole tourna ment, to be held May 16 from 5-9 p.m. at City Center Park in Fay etteville. The networking event aims to join businesses and individuals from ac ross the region for an evening of friendly compe tition and fellowship, ac cording to chamber officials. Competitors will come to showcase their cornhole skills, network with fellow the influx of businesses and industries choosing to invest and expand in PTC. “[Many] repeatedly cite our airport, our skilled and ready workforce, and our Peachtree City quality of life,” Learnard said. “I think that not only U.S. Soccer Federation but also the other block busters in Fayette County like Trilith and the QTS Data Center are going to have a tremen- business professionals, and enjoy the park’s at mosphere. Participants are encouraged to form teams and represent their com panies in the tournament. “The Fayette Chamber is once again excited to host this annual event. Business success is based upon relationships and this event allows our members and guests to come together in a fun and relaxed environment all the while marketing pro ducts and services,” said FCC President and CEO dous, positive effect on our tax base countywide. This annual program provides additional finan cial support for the chamber as part of its ef forts to support small busi nesses and develop programming such as seminars, workshops, and conferences. Participants have the option to purchase cus tom-branded cornhole boards, allowing com panies to increase visibility and highlight branding in a “fun and interactive way.” highlighted that PTC is working with the chamber to “focus on strategies to support and promote” ex isting businesses in the area. “Also to recruit and re tain new businesses, bring industries in, and now they’re coming in from other countries, and the chamber offers Peachtree City a lot of interesting cor ollary services as well,” Learnard said. “One exam ple is government out reach. The chamber is hosting us all to a legis lative evening coming up in Atlanta and we are looking forward to participating in that.” Learnard spoke proudly about the joint efforts be tween the city and chamber to promote positive busi ness development. “There’s a lot of synergy and we’re working together to promote and advance our businesses in Peach tree City and throughout the county,” Learnard said. “The high-quality branded boards are a fan tastic addition to any com pany's marketing tools and will serve as a keepsake re minder of the event,” chamber officials added. Teams interested in participating are encour aged to register early, as spaces are limited. More than 1,500 plants tended by Fayette Master Gardener Association and friends will be sold at the organization’s 15th annual plant sale on Saturday, April 13 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Fayetteville at the Stonewall Government Complex, located at 140 Stonewall Avenue West. Organizers are offering a wide selection of an nuals, perennials, vege tables, herbs, shrubs, and trees. Payment can be made using checks, cash, or cards. Additionally, the or ganization will host a gar den tour on Saturday, April 27 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Participants will be able to visit five gardens. The cost is $5 per gar den, $15 for all gardens if purchased in advance, and $20 for all gardens on the day of the tour.
