Beginning May 12, Fay ette County resident Elliot Segal says he plans to honor his late wife with “Linda’s Ride,” a chari table motorcycle trip seek ing to circumnavigate the U.S. in 15,000 miles. The couple was mar ried for 44 years and re sided in the county for more than 20 years. Segal will start his jour ney from his driveway, planning a safe return to the same spot, signifying the completion of the ride. Two other riders proposed to accompany him on the expedition using only sec ondary and state roads. “We will only use the interstate if we really need to,” said Segal. Traveling six days out of the week, Segal stated he is only stopping on the sabbath and camping at night when they must rest. During the expedition, he plans to spread aware ness about potential Israeli soldiers’ needs considering the current conflict over seas. A retired chiropractor, Segal says his idea was based on nostalgic motor cycle rides he enjoyed with his wife, and their shared passion for the Jewish faith. His wife would frequently visit Israel, and this prompted Segal to perform the ride, partner ing with American Friends of Meir Panim. For more information, visit https: //meirpanim.org/lin dasride/.
