OBITUARIES A2 Fayette County News MOWELL FUNERAL HOME 200 Robinson ROAD NOTICE OF PROPERTY TAX INCREASE The FAYETTEVILLE CITY COUNCIL has ten tatively adopted a millage rate which will re quire an increase in property taxes by 2.19 percent over the rollback rate. All concerned citizens are invited to the pub lic hearings on this tax increase to be held at Fayetteville City Hall 210 Stonewall Ave W., Fayetteville, Georgia on October 16, 2025, at 9:00AM and 6:00 PM. Times and places of additional public hear ings on this tax increase are at Fayetteville City Hall, 210 Stonewall Ave. W Fayetteville, Georgia, on October 23, 2025, at 6:00 PM. This tentative increase will result in a millage rate of 5.646 mills an increase of 0.121 mills. Without the tentative tax increase, the mil lage rate will be no more than 5.525 mills. The proposed tax increase for a home with a fair market value of $425,000 is approx imately $20.57 and the proposed tax increase for non-homestead property with a fair mar ket value of $650,000 is approximately 100 N. She was born to Fletcher T. and Elsie Joyce Hall Hud dleston in Atlanta on Jan. 8, 1958. Rita is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clay Huddleston. Her memory will be cherished by her loving hus band, Billy Eugene Brand; children, Michelle (John) Griffin of Senoia and Nick (Chanda) Doughty of Fay etteville; grandchildren, Nicole Griffin and Max Grif fin, both of Senoia, and Bailee Brooke and Kylee Rose of Fayetteville; aunt, Helen Johnson of Ft. Worth, Texas; along with many cousins. A member of Fayetteville First Baptist Church, Rita exhibited the Christian spirit and charity and shared them with all she came in contact with. She was an admin istrative assistant for D J Powers, assisting with the freight operations and their customers. Rita was the most up- beat, positive, and energetic person under any situation or circumstance. She could find beauty in everything Wednesday, October 8, 2025 and never met a stranger. Rita was a perfect example of and radiated the love of her Savior. She was a de voted caregiver to anyone around her - her family, friends, or complete strangers. Her greatest joy and love were her family and the Lord Jesus Christ. A funeral service was held on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Mowell Funeral Home, Fay etteville, with Rev. Glenn Stringham officiating. Visi tation occurred Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Rita was laid to rest at Westminster Me morial Gardens in Peachtree City. Joseph D. Wilson (Atlanta) - two counts of drug possession/sale/manufacture; mis demeanors failure to maintain lane and pos- session/use of drug related objects. Smith (Atlanta) - two felony counts of financial identity fraud. Tremaine D. Bailey (Tyrone) - drug pos session/sale/manufacture; misdemeanor marijuana possession less than one ounce. Jamie M. Louissaint (East Point) - felony theft by deception; forgery of financial trans action card. Ebone E. Matthews - three counts of il legal possession of dangerous items; drug possession/sale/manufacture. Cheree Carter (Tucker) - two counts of drug possession/sale/manufacture. Final accreditation will be based NOTICE The City of Fayetteville does hereby announce that the millage rate for the City of Fayetteville will be set at a meeting of the City of Fayetteville Mayor and Council on October 23, 2025 at 6:00 PM in the Council Chambers at 210 Stonewall Ave. W.
