Position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance on county vehicles and heavy equipment and repairing/replacing tires and reports directly to the Shop Foreman. Duties include repairing/replacing tires on a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, check fluid levels on a variety of county vehicles or heavy equipment, change fluids and/or filters on a variety of county vehicles and heavy equipment according preventive maintenance schedule, inspecting, removing or replacing hydraulic lines and cylinders, greasing various pieces of heavy equipment and tractors, and assisting mechanics as needed. Performs various other duties as assigned by the Shop Foreman. Minimum qualifications include a valid Georgia driver's license, knowledge and a level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
