Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper
for Non-profit Institution
Founded in 1976 and housed in a restored 1895
school building in historic Madison, Georgia,
Madison-Morgan Cultural Center (MMCC) is a multi
disciplinary institution with programming in visual
arts, musical performance, and history.
Duties: Principle responsibility of the staff
accountant/bookkeeper is to manage all aspects of
day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting processes.
This includes A/P, A/R, payroll, ledger journal, bank
accounts, general admin support, audit prep, and
assisting with events as needed.
Required Qualifications:
-Minimum 2 years bookkeeping experience
commensurate with MMCC duties
- Proficient with accounting software systems, willingness
& ability to be highly proficient in specific MMCC systems-
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office & Excel
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills
- Cooperative work attitude and support of the MMCC
Mission
- Absolute integrity and confidentiality
Desired Qualifications:
- Formal education/training/certification in accounting
- Significant experience in a non-profit environment
- Significant experience with Blackbaud’s Edge
accounting software
- Fund accounting experience
