Thursday, July 20,2017 The Baldwin Bulletin I Your local newspaper Page B7 Man arrested on outstanding warrants, giving false information to MPD officer Smith Continued from B1 verbiage, poise, intellect and savvy of two players in particular—Jordan Spieth, the American, and John Rahm, the Spaniard. They made sense when they talked. They were careful to avoid controversy—their view of golfing things was insightful and downright intellectual. No wasted words, depth of meaning prevailed and commu nication skills which allowed them to tell it like it is without body language suggesting it was important to add an exclamation point. Spieth has an uncommon modesty which stimulates admiration with the media. There are players out there with his talent, but will never bring about a press conference kudo. Rahm having matriculated at Arizona State speaks better English than some of those who hold high office in the U.S. Each has a high regard for the competition on the world golfing stage today. All of which leads one to think that if Tiger Wood’s back were to suddenly find the fountain of youth, that it would be difficult for him to dominate the game today. The way things are going we can expect a new face in the major champion winner’s circle before we see a repeat champion—according to Spieth and Rahm, not a law firm in Manhattan but two players on the tour we eagerly embrace for their style, sportsmanship and manners. You would expect Rahm, a warm blooded Spaniard, to get hot under the collar as he did at the U. S. Open in June when he temper amentally tossed a club and a rake, in the tradition of his fellow countryman Seve Ballesteros. Rahm apologized profusely to his playing partners and spent considerable time earlier in the week explaining to the media how important it was for him to control his emotions on the golf course. Though a marvelous golfer, there are no recol lections of Seve making any behavioral apologies. However, there were frequent spates of humor such as Seve’s explanation of how he four putted from IS feet at the 16th hole at the Masters in 1988: “I miss, I miss, I miss, I make.” There remains, as has been the case for several years, a UGA flavor in the field as Russell Henley, Brian Harman, Kevin Kisner and Bubba Watson represent the Red and Black in Open competition. Perhaps the breeze off the Irish Sea will blow favor ably for one of them this weekend. A Milledgeville man was arrested for outstanding warrants and a new charge of giving a false name and date of birth to a law enforcement officer on Thursday, July 14. According to the police report, Officer David Descoteaux of the Milledgeville Police Department conducted a traffic stop for an equip ment violation at 9:46 p.m., after the vehicle pulled into the Flash Foods at 1935 N. Jefferson St. The front seat passenger told Descoteaux his name was Beau Jack Hall and his date of birth was 1973, but he could not provide any identification. According to the narra tive, when Descoteaux checked the name provided by the passenger, no information was found on him. Hall then recon firmed his name and told him to call another officer he claimed to know, to which Descoteaux replied that he didn’t care what law enforcement officers he knew. According to the report, Descoteaux checked again and found an alert for an alias related to the subject with multiple warrants. The person’s name was Ernest Lee Hall and he had a date of birth of 1974. He was listed as using Bo Hall as an alias, and had active warrants in Baldwin County. Descoteaux then contacted the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, which provided a photo matching the suspect. According to the narrative, the officer then confronted Hall with the new information, to which he denied giving incorrect information. Upon showing Hall the photo, he admitted the man in the photo was him, but maintained his name is Beau Jack Hall. Hall was taken into custody. The driver of the vehicle said she knows the subject because he cuts her children’s hair at a barbershop, according to the narrative. She denied knowing his correct name and said she only knew him as Beau Jack. The driver was released with a warning for an equipment violation. -Wil Petty Local Services GEORGIA’S LAKE COUNTRY Guide to Businesses and Services in the Lake Area BUSINESS & SERVICE DIRECTORY DAVIS & SON TRUCKING & TRACTOR SERVICES FREE ESTIMATES • Crush & Run • Gravel • Driveways & Walkways • Driveway Pipe Installation • Skid Steer Work • Sand • Fill Dirt • Type III Rip Rap (behind sea wall) 706.816.9730 BEST RATES IN TOWN! *1 IN SERVICE! 800 N.
