Best Friends Day was on Aug. 15, but hanging out with friends is done year round in Milledgeville. Natalie Stovall is a Georgia College student, and she said her best friends motivate, encourage and support her to be the best version of herself. Her friendships are special. “My best friend is more than one person,” Stovall said. “I have six friends that I consider to be some of my closest friends. Each one of them is always there for _ » me. They haven’t been friends their entire life, but Stovall still finds value in her friendships. Activities, such as hanging out at the Oconee River Greenway or visiting the mall can be fun with friends. “We have been friends for the past three to four years, but I feel like I’ve known them for much longer,” Stovall said. ‘We Inspired by the outdoors, this accent chair is comfortably cool. They hang out with each other almost daily and love getting together to do things in town. “My best friend is Taylor. She is my best friend because I can trust her, and we like to do a lot of the same things. We have been best friends about seven years,” Cole said. Having that special bond of friendship with her best friend for so long makes Cole remember the good times. Remembering how they met and when they became friends is important to her. “Taylor and I became friends in the fourth grade when we met each other because we were in the same class,” Cole said. “We used to do marching band together and played the same instrument, now we hang out in town or at each other’s house. We meet up every morning before we go to school and still hang out on the weekends.” Having things in common with each other is what makes for a great best friend sometimes and that person is there through the good and bad times. Abigail Knox is a Georgia College student and she loves hanging out at Buffington’s in downtown Milledgeville. “My best friend is Sarah. She is my best friend because we both can be quirky, understanding, funny and loving with each other,” Knox said. “We have a lot of the same likings in music artists... Being able to trust that person is one of the reasons that person might just be a really wonderful best friend. “Sarah and I also enjoy just driving around late at night and jamming in the car,” Knox said. “There have been plenty of nights with the windows rolled down and we’re singing at the top of our lungs.
