FanFest 2017 will take place during the pregame events. There will be various sports-related events including field goal kicking, quarter back throwing, soccer kicking and basketball competition, as well as bounce houses. In addition there will be many local restaurants giving away samples including: Pickle Barrel, Metropolis, Jimmy Johns, Bojangles, Waffle Flouse and El Tequila. Tickets to the game are $10 general admission, $3 for col lege students with ID and children 10 and under, and free for GMC Students and staff. Reserved seating is $15. Thursday, Aug. 24,7 p.m. Salsa dancing. The Latin Dance Club of Baldwin County will hold its weekly Salsa dancing course at the Georgia College West Campus, 134 West Campus Dr. No partner is required, and it gives goers the opportunity to get fit and have fun. The Latino Student Association at Georgia College and CRE ATE INC sponsor the event. The class is free. Saturday, Aug. 26,10 p.m. to 2 a.m. Kilo Ali at Amici. Kilo Ali will be performing at Amici, tickets are $5 and can be purchased in advance at Amici starting Aug. 7. Throughout the early to mid-90s, Atlanta bass and booty music legend Kilo Ali was the most notable rapper to represent the city. Fie released his debut album, "America Flas a Problem," in 1990, when he was 17 years old, instantly becoming the first wild card of Atlanta's hip-hop scene. He was also one of the first rappers to emerge from Bankhead. Sunday, Aug. 27,2 p.m. Allied Arts will host its monthly storytelling series. The series is a partnership between Allied Arts, professional storyteller Jeanette Waddell and WRGC 88.3. This month's them will be "It's Cold Out There." Four Milledgeville storytellers will share their tales. Sherry Morrison will share her story "They Told Me I Needed a Muffler." Morrison is involved with the monthly Spring Street Fair in Sparta. In he spare time, she enjoys traveling, gardening, writing and creating art Massachusetts native Priscilla Randall will share her tale, "Snowbirds to Southern Belle." Randall is a first soprano at First Methodist Church. Ken Saladin, a retired Georgia Col lege sciences professor, will share his tale "Fire and Ice." Waddell, one of the hosts, will share her tale of "Fur and Ink." Waddell is in the process of creating a written storytelling book "Staying Nappy in a Straight World," tales of the jour ney African-American women have taken to embrace their natural hair, and the criticism they have faced. Storytelling takes places the fourth Sunday of each month at Allen's Market. Parking is available at 201 N. Wayne Street, and on Wayne or McIntosh streets. The event is free and open to the public. Sunday, Aug. 27,2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Georgia Writer's Museum in Eatonton announces it will be hosting lecture by Dr. Bruce Gentry. Gentry is an English professor at Georgia College, the editor of the Flannery O'Connor Review, an author and aficionado on all things O'Connor. Gentry has also published works on other American fiction writers, including Raymond Carver, E.L. Doctorow and Philip Roth. Gentry will speak about understanding O'Connor and her writings. Good Country People and A Good Man is Hard to Find will be the focus of his discussion. He will also discuss her life story, Catholic upbringing, writing style and her identity as a prominent Southern writer. The Farmers Market is open from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., although most vendors set up at noon. The Farmers Market runs every Tuesday from April to October. Tuesday, Aug. 29,5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The Milledgeville Chapter of the University of Georgia Alum ni Association will host sports radio personality Jeff Dantzler at Jackson's on Lake Sinclair, 3065 N. Friday, Sept. 1, all day Goodwill will join Macon Beer Company in celebrating the new Georgia law allowing brewers and distillers to sell their products directly to consumers with a ceremonial "First Pint Pour" event, a fundraiser benefiting Goodwill's job training and career development services. Current Georgia law allows breweries to only offer small sam ples to customers who pay to tour their facilities. The long- sought new law eliminates the tour requirement and instead will allow breweries to sell directly to consumers for on- and on-premises consumption. Breweries around the state will celebrate Sept. 1 by pouring and serving their first legal pints of beer since the end of Prohibition. To commemorate the historic occasion, Goodwill and Macon Beer Co. are selling tickets to award one lucky winner the first pint poured at Macon's first modern brewery. In addi tion, the winner will receive a Chef's Table dinner for eight at Edgar's Bistro, a $500 value. In addition, each raffle ticket purchased will allow one person free admission to Macon Beer's final tasting and tour on Aug. 31.
