The court has indicted a true bid on Tatum for all three counts that was brought before the court. Those counts were: murder, felony murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Tatum is accused of killing 22-year-old Voisel Javon Renfro. Detective Thomas “T. J.” Hargrove, representing the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office gave a special present ment for the case. Stephen A. Bradley serves as the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney. on murder charges In the state of Georgia the counts of murder and felony murder can carry punishments of death, life without parole and life with parole eligibility in 30 years. The charge of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon can carry a term of up to five years. In an effort to better serve the community, elected officials and ORMC staff members came together to openly discuss changes, issues and plans of action to resolve them. Oconee Regional Health Systems, Inc. is expected to turnover oper ation to Navicent between Friday, Sept. 29 and Sunday, Oct. 1. As a result of bankruptcy an auction was held so interested parties could com petitively bid to purchase ORMC. SEE HOSPITAL » A8 » BALDWIN COUNTY Citizens revisit public pool issue with commissioners » CONGRESSIONAL VISIT Hice speaks at GMC Constitution Day event WIL PETTY wil@bbnews.today During its public meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 19, the Baldwin County Board of Commissioners were again pressured by concerned citizens about the need of a public pool. A discussion regarding a pool orig inally started at the board’s Sept. 5 meeting, but many wanted to make sure the issue would not go away. A public pool, originally ran by the county was closed at 2012. During the Sept. 5 meeting, Chairman Sammy Hall said the county did not have the money at the time when some Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) money was set aside for recreation. The goal this time around, by the citizens was to mention how urgent they believe a pool is. “I want to reiterate my sense of impor tance on timeliness in regards to an SEI POOL » A9 WIL PETTY wil@bbnews.today Georgia Military College held its Con stitution Day Ceremony at 2:30 p.m. on Friday Sept. 17 to pay homage to the birth of the United States Government. Rep. Jody Hice (R-GA) was the guest speaker for the event held at the Grant Parade Field on the GMC campus. “We are here today to talk about that which is very precious to all of us and that is our Constitution,” he said. “It is something that distinguishes this country from every country in the world.
