Brad King, major with the Baldwin County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigations Division, said that it’s still not crystal clear how many people were in the get-away vehicle. Meanwhile, the man who fired the fatal shot continues to claim self-defense and has not been arrested. That man has been identified as Malik Murray. The incident occurred Nov. 7 around 9:30 p.m. in Harrisburg. A group of friends were standing in the front yard at 126 Central Avenue when a vehicle approached with its headlights off. Gunfire then erupted from inside the vehicle, both a .9 millimeter handgun and a long gun. However, Murray returned fire with a .9 millimeter of his own, fatally striking a passenger, 23-year-old Jyleel Decovas Solomon, in the head. Taylor Goodman The vehicle then pulled off, but not before one of the men from inside of the vehicle shot a woman who was standing in the yard in the backside. The woman was driven to Navicent Health Baldwin County, treated and eventually released. Detectives then believe that the men in the vehicle ditched the guns before beginning to drive towards Navicent Health, them selves. All the while, Solomon was fighting for his life. Upon passing the old Friendly Gus convenience store next to Dairy Queen, however, the driver of the vehicle - Maliek Nashiem Taylor, 21 - panicked and pulled into the store parking lot, where he made contact with a Milledgeville Police Department officer and asked the officer to render first aid to his friend, Solomon. Solomon was transported to Navicent Health, where he later passed away. Taylor has been arrested and charged with aggravated assault and has admitted to being one of the shooters, while Trevontaine Goodman, 24, is charged with one count each of Tampering With Evidence and Possession of a Firearm With an Altered ID. Let’s make sure the band director has enough space within the parking lot where they currently practice.” The band area will also accommodate the band director’s requests by installing additional lighting, and there will be band towers. However, practice space will still be in the parking areas, however the upgrades to the parking areas do not include asphalt so the band will still be able to practice on comfortable ground. Members of the Baldwin County Board of Education selected Parrish Construction and Goodwyn Mills and Cawood (GMC) to partner with them throughout the project.
