Daniels, of Alto, Michigan Professor at GSCW 1967 White House Calls Vinson On Birthday Typed By Mariah Burney, Midway Hills Academy A personal telephone call from president Johnson, messages from former President Eisenhower and dozens of other prominent national figures, high-lighted the 84th birthday of retired Congressman Carl Vinson. The White House call, along with birthday wishes, include an invitation to visit Washington as a guest of the White House. Mr. Vinson served with President Johnson in the Congress prior to his, Johnson’s, election to the Senate. No formal birthday celebration was held as Mr. Vinson spent a quiet day with close friends. 1992 Baldwin High teacher wins statewide award Typed by: Veronica Gillis and Mar iah Burney, Midway Hills Academy From staff and wire-service reports Sandra Worsham, a language arts teacher and program coordinator at Baldwin High School, is one of six state educators to receive the 1992 Georgia Educators Award. Four teachers and two principals were chosen by the state Department of Education to get $25,000 awards through the Milken Foundations. They received awards Friday. Worsham has received many honors since coming to Baldwin High in 1972. She has twice been named Baldwin County’s Teacher of the Year, in 1981 and 1990. She was chosen Georgia’s Teacher of the Year in 1982. In 1985, she was chosen Out-standing Young Alumna at Georgia College. Obituaries should be submitted by the funeral home. Craig "Bud" Williams Sr. Nov. 10, 2017 Mr. Craig “Bud” Williams Sr., 53, passed away on Friday, Nov. 10, 2017.
