The Mansion will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Take a step back in time and see how the elite of Georgia celebrated this holiday. The mansion is open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Sunday 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Tours held on the hour. Closed for Thanksgiving Nov. 22-26. The group is a nine-piece ensemble from Athens whose influences include classical, hip-hop, funk and jazz. Sunday, Dec. 23,9 a.m. Cookie decorations for Santa will take place at Slice Custom Cakes. The event is a gathering of butchers, chefs, farmers and veterans coming together to celebrate the start of our growing season and to support of our nation's first Veterans' Acute Crisis Agricultural Center. The VACAC program will help combat veterans, transition effectively into civilian life. The Boucherie festival is a 3-day educational event designed to bring the community together witness the craft of our butchers, farmers and chefs who work together throughout the growing season to prepare seasonal delicious meals from local, sustainable and organic sources. The Office of Inclusive Excellence at Georgia College invites participation in the competition of scholarly or creative works in honor of the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Students in area schools are being asked to consider the powerful rhetorical style and the message of transformational change contained in "What is Your Life's Blueprint," that was delivered by Dr. King on Oct. 26,1967 at Barrett Junior High School in Philadelphia and formulate a response. Winning works will be selected by each school for each level of instruction (elementary, middle and high school) at their own discretion. From that pool, a Georgia College Committee will select three students to present their work at the breakfast. Cost for the breakfast is $15, registration ends on Jan. 11.
