Attendees clap as the tree is finally lit. Citizens wandered the streets checking out the various window decorations. Guests could purchase beautiful pre-made gingerbread houses perfect for decoration or eating. PINNACLE CREDIT UNION ‘CREDIT RESTRICTIONS APPLY Photos by Leila Scoggins / Staff Downtown Greensboro became a winter wonderland Friday, Dec. 4 as citizens flooded the streets for an evening of holiday cheer. Children were drawn to Santa Claus as they eagerly whispered their desires in his rosy red ear. The streets twinkled with lights as area performers wowed crowds gathered on the courthouse lawn. At the culmination of the evening, Mayor Glenn Wright began the count down until the great tree's old fashioned lights were lit for the first time this season.
