Children were drawn to Santa Claus as they eagerly whispered their desires in his rosy red ear. The streets twinkled with lights as area performers wowed crowds gathered on the courthouse lawn. At the culmination of the evening, Mayor Glenn Wright began the count down until the great tree's old fashioned lights were lit for the first time this season.
