CALENDAR SPOTLIGHT
Children parade through the streets of downtown Madison as the city welcomes the holiday season in style.
After the parade head on down to Town Park for the annual Caroling by Candlelight event.
Holiday Parade and Caroling by the Candlelight
Madison will host its annual Holiday Parade beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12. The parade will feature
the Morgan County High School Bulldog Marching Band, floats, vintage cars, horses, dogs and dancers. This
year's theme is "A Storybook Christmas." The Caroling by Candlelight event in Town Park will follow the
Holiday Parade. Make your way down to the park at 5 p.m.. Join your friends and neighbors for the Madison
Main Street event that will feature music by local choral groups, bands and community based musicians
as they sing the songs of the season. Visit with Santa, Ms. Claus and their elves, sip on hot chocolate and
roast marshmallows over an open flame. Celebrate the holiday season in small town style; join the fun at the
Holiday Parade and Caroling by Candlelight.

Christmas wreath dedica
tion ceremony noon Satur
day, Dec. 12 at the Georgia
War Veterans ceremony
in Milledgeville. Seven
wreaths will be dedicated
for each branch of the
U.S. Armed Forces. After
the ceremony, volunteers
will place 2,000 donated
Christmas wreaths around
the cemetery - one on
each grave of each veteran
buried there (many of
whom are from Putnam
County). To volunteer to
lay a wreath or for infor

community decorated
for Christmas 11 a.m.-4
p.m. Saturday, Dec.12.

the church, chat with the
general store manager,
see the mill with 12-foot
wheel, and follow the creek
to find a moonshine still.
Conclude with a cup of
hot chocolate served by
a warm fire. There is no
