Atlanta Symphony Concert

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra returned to the Madison-Morgan Cultural Center
on Wednesday, Dec. 2 for its annual Holiday Concert. This year's show featured solos
by violinist Justin Bruns, soprano singer Amy Little and baritone player Thomas
Dreeze. The sold-out show is a community favorite and marks the beginning of the
holiday season in Madison.

gist and supervisor in Ohio

Head and Neck Institute.
She believes that hearing

Eatonton Police Department and The
Peoples Bank are pleased to announce that
Doris Clemons, Vicky Martin, Donita Rob
erts and Pat Welch have completed train
ing to earn Adult Crime Tactics Specialist
Certification.
The credential is awarded to ACT-trained
professionals who are mandated by State
Law to report the suspected abuse, neglect,
and exploitation of vulnerable adults.
The ACT program is administered by the
Georgia Department of Human Services
Division of Aging Services in collaboration
with eight other organizations.
Through the ACT certification series,
workers in public safety, criminal justice,
social services, healthcare and related
fields learn to more easily recognize and
report signs of abuse against at-risk adults,
collaborate effectively with other profes
sionals, increase the number of prose
cutions and strengthen prevention tech
niques.
Certified professionals comprise a state
wide ACT Specialist team that promotes
community awareness, shares trends and
stays up-to-date with additional training.
Organizations that collaborate with the
DHS Division of Aging Services to offer
the ACT Specialist Certification include
the following:
• The Administrative Office of the Courts
of Georgia
• The Georgia Association of Chiefs of
Police
• The Georgia Bureau of Investigation
• The Georgia Peace Officer Standards
and Training Council
• The Georgia Police Academy
• The Georgia Sheriffs Association, Inc.
• The Institute of Judicial Continuing Ed
ucation
• The Prosecuting Attorneys’ Council of
Georgia.
The ACT specialist certification curricu
lum covers topics such as the aging process
as it applies to law enforcement; abuse,
neglect and exploitation risk factors and
indicators; financial exploitation features
and investigation tactics; incident/crime
scene tools and techniques; capacity and
competency; guardianship, conservator-
ship, and Power of Attorney; Georgia law;
helpful resources; and related subject mat
ter.
