GREENE COUNTY
Mark Engel/Staff
There have been no long lines in Greene county but election officials say they're
seeing a steady stream of residents who want to cast their ballots early for the
General Election. Voter turnout in the county through midday Tuesday was at
25% of active registered voters.

“Do you remember that movie,
Network?” It was the voice of an older
woman talking to her husband on
Tuesday.
“The guy was hanging out the window,
screaming” she said as they walked down
the hall from where they had just cast
their early votes in Greene county.
“I’m as mad as hell and I’m not going to
take it anymore!”
It seems to be a metaphor for many
voters this election year. But you don’t
see so much anger as you see shoulders
shrug, eyes roll and lips tighten. For some
it appears to be a gentile disgust.
