discount.” Usry laughs and she says, “I worked on his

Watson chosen as Morgan County
School System Teacher of the Year

Angela Watson has been chosen
as Morgan County’s Teacher of the
Year for 2016. Watson is a special
education collaborative teacher
at Morgan County Elementary
School.
She was born in Doraville and
is now married to Morgan County
native Charles Watson.
She graduated from Georgia
Southern with a bachelor of science
degree and earned her master’s
degree in special education from
Piedmont College in 2011. She is in
her 11 th year at Morgan County Ele
mentary School.
Angela will now complete a
lengthy application for the State
Teacher of the Year contest and will
represent Morgan County Charter
School System all year.

in apparent
hunting
accident

A Morgan County man
was killed while he was deer
hunting in Jasper County on
property east of Highway 16
last Friday afternoon, accord
ing to the GBI.
Jasper County Coroner Billy
Norris said Joseph Wesley
Hoffman, 34, of a Morgan
County address in Buckhead
died Nov. 11 due to a gunshot
wound to the abdomen he
received at approximately 5:45
p.m.
At the request of the Jasper
County Sheriffs Office, the
Georgia Bureau of Investiga
tion investigated the death.
