Students who achieve a semester grade point average of 3.50 or higher on nine or more semester hours with an grade point average of 3.00 or higher are placed on the dean’s list. Proceeds from the turkey shoots will support one of these important initiatives. MCPS hosting Kindergarten Round-up Morgan County Primary School will be hosting a Kindergarten Round-Up on March 7-8 from 4 to 6 p.m. each day. Parents may bring chil dren the school for a brief screening to ensure a “best fit” placement in kinder garten. Parents will be provided with resources to assist in Kindergarten readiness. (Current MCPS students will not need to attend.) Online registration is available prior to the round-up by visisting www. morgan.kl2.ga.us Call 706-752-4600 for an appointment to complete registration with Lavonne Doty at the Board of Edu cation offices. Parents must bring a child’s birth certifi cate (must be age 5 prior to Sept. 1, 2017), immuniza tion form 3231, social secu rity card and two proofs of residency. Wagner named to President’s List Emma Wagner, a res ident of Madison, made the fall 2016 President’s List at Georgia Southwest ern State University and was among 559 students recognized for scholastic achievement. To be eligible for the Pres ident’s List, a student must earn a semester GPA of 4.0at Georgia Southwest ern University and take a minimum of 12 credit hours. Georgia Southwestern State University, located in Americus, Georgia, is a public, four-year unit of the University System of Georgia with nearly 3,000 students. On Nov. 5 and Dec. 10, entrants gathered at the gun range at State Road 16 and Pea Ridge Road to test their target shooting skills. Tur key shoots are also designed to provide instruction to young people regarding fire arms safety under the super vision of experienced Elks members. The Lake Oconee Ladies Auxiliary (LOLA/ Lady Elks) braved the cold and delivered some holiday cheer as LOLA member, Suzi Bauch, assisted by her husband Jim, manned a beverage table for both events.
