OCONEE/ATHENS Gallery event planned at OCAF Saturday A gallery talk at Oconee Cul tural Arts Foundation with art ists Philip Moulthrop and Sabiha Mujtaba, moderated by Abraham Tesser will be held Saturday, Jan. 28 at 10:30 a.m. This event will feature the com mentary of two accomplished art ists discussing their work and the work of other artists in the show. Wood turner Philip Moulthrop and furniture artist Sabiha Muj taba will each present a brief, illustrated talk about their work how they approach it. These talks will be followed by a stroll through the gallery where each artist will comment on pieces that they find interesting. The talks and stroll will be mod erated by Tesser, curator of Wood Works. Moulthrop is the 2012 winner of the Governor’s Award for the Arts and Humanities; his works are in the permanent collections of numerous museums including the American Craft Museum in New York and the Carter Center Museum and Library in Atlanta. Mujtaba’s work has been juried into some of the most prestigious woodworking exhibits and is fea tured in a number of publications including, Fine Woodworking: Design Book and Studio Furniture and Today’s Leading Woodworkers. This gallery talk is free and open to the public, and runs in conjunction with Wood Works: A Regional Exhibition currently on display thru Feb. 17 in the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation’s (OCAF’s) Main Gallery, 34 School Street in Watkinsville.
