Michael Stone michael@lakeoconeenews.us Greene County deputies had no idea what they were about to become involved in on the night Feb. 7, but when it was finally over a murder suspect who allegedly killed his own grandparents earlier that day was in custody. According to incident reports obtained from the Greene County Sheriffs Office, dispatch had advised patrol deputies that Deputy Joshua Wilson had attempted to pull over a blue Chevrolet pickup truck near exit 138, but the when Wilson got out of his car and approached the vehicle, it sped away. Dispatch had already received a call about a reckless driver in a vehicle matching that description earlier that night. Wilson returned to his car and pursued, but the driver of the truck refused to yield to yield to the marked Greene County unit with sirens blasting. Deputy Rutledge also joined in the pursuit. The chase continued with vehicles reaching speeds in excess of 100 miles per hour with the truck making abrupt lane changes and nearly striking several vehicles, according to reports.
